what my users (academic researchers and library staff) want is the ability to open up their MySite and move the contents around for ease of use, then to edit directly in one of the blocks. in other words, they want one of the content items available to be a sort of scratchpad (like a comments form or annotation form) which updates their notes as they go along.

is anything like this even possible?
